Miss Reichl
Charles Reid is my favourite watercolour painter and I’ve been trying to learn from his books for some time now. I wish I could participate in one of his workshops someday! It would be lovely to watch him paint and get to know him…
In his past workshops I’ve read about, he encouraged his students to paint from black and white photographs. I really liked this idea so I will try to do some more watercolour sketches like this in the next couple of days.
For my first sketch I used one of the beautiful photographs by Mucha, taken in his studio – Miss Reichl (Max Reinhardt’s Company’s leading actress) posing for ‘Tragedy’, a German Theatre mural.

Leonek
Hello there!
Here are some sketches of Leonek, a lovely huge orange cat of my dear aunt. He is, as you can see, a very talented model so it was a pleasure to draw him. I wish I could do it more often.
The drawings were made this Christmas when I visited my family. I used my vintage fountain pen and my tiny Gamma series sketchbook by Stillman & Birn.
I wish you all a very special New Year!!!
